Preschool Director - Child Development Center

Miss Rita has been with the Burbank YMCA CDC for over 8 years.  She began her career with us as a teacher, worked in summer camp as a camp Leader and has been our Preschool Director since 2016.  Rita holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child & Adolescent Development from Cal State Northridge, is an active member of the NAEYC, enjoys cooking and fitness.  Miss Rita has been in the field of Education for sixteen years.

Dierik Gonzalez

Preschool Director - Burbank Community YMCA Horace Mann Children's Center

Mr. Dierik began his career at the Burbank YMCA back in 2012 as a summer camp counselor. Since then, he has been a summer camp leader and in 2015 he became a permanent staff member for the Child Development program as an enrichment after-school lead. Mr. Dierik. During school hours, Mr. Dierik also gained experience working as a Behavioral Therapist for children within the school district. In 2018 he became a full time Pre-K Teacher at the CDC eventually becoming the Master Teacher for Horace Mann in 2021. Mr. Dierik holds a bachelor’s of arts in Sociology & Psychology as well as more than 30 units in Child Development.

Rebecca Kelly-Garcia

Summer Camp & Inclusion Director

Burbank Community YMCA Horace Mann Children's Center

Miss Rebecca began her career here at the Burbank y as a school-age counselor in 2008.  Soon she became our associate preschool director, then became a program director for LA Metro YMCA overseeing multiple youth program sites.  Miss Rebecca returns to us as the Summer Camp & Inclusion director for Horace Mann.  Rebecca's dedication and commitment to the mission and values of the YMCA is going to be vital to us all.  Miss Rebecca is a huge Disney fan, loves escape rooms and most of all dedicates her time to her son Jaxon.

George Taiman

Facilities Director/Transportation Coordinator

Mr. George has been with the Burbank YMCA CDC for over 14 years and began his career here as a school-age counselor and summer camp leader.  George currently oversees Facilities and our transportation department.  He holds a Director certificate from the American Camp Association (ACA) and is passionate about music.
