Youth & Family Fitness

The Y encourages people to be active and healthy at all stages of life. We know it is important to instill the habits and values that will lead to a lifetime of health and happiness early on; that’s why we have revitalized our Youth Fitness Classes to help kids discover these concepts in a fun and enriching environment to put them on a path towards lifelong fitness.

Bollywood (Ages 15-10) : Bollywood dance is a fun, energetic dance style used in the Indian film industry. With elements of Indian classical dance, Bhangra, and various Western styles, Bollywood's high energy and contagious spirit make it the perfect workout for kids!

Family Cycling (Ages 10+): This class is a great cardiovascular workout. Pedal through hill
climbs, sprints and other challenging drills and exercises. All levels are welcome.

Family Zumba (Ages 4+ w/parent): Get fit as a family and dance your way to health (parents
must stay with children).

Handball (Ages 5-12): A fun high speed game, teaching kids technical and tactical skills.
Open Swim: Open swim hours held at the Lap Pool and Training Pool. See pool rules.

Rookie Ballet (Ages 3-4): Children will be introduced to basic ballet positions as well as
elementary ballet movement.

Rookie Jazz (Ages 3-4): Jazz dance is full of rhythm, and can be powerful, expressive and lyrical. Dancers will learn body isolations, flexibility, proper technique, and jazz dance taught with music of today.

Gold Medal Games (Ages 5-12): Gold Medal Games utilizes fun tools and equipment during relays, obstacles courses, and team challenges to get your child moving while also teaching the fundamentals of fitness and healthy living.

Intro to Soccer (Ages 5-12): It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you learn the game. At the Burbank Community YMCA, our Youth Sports programs are character driven and kids develop all of their skills, from passing and dribbling, to teamwork and sportsmanship.

Yoga Discovery (Ages 5-10): Learn yoga techniques early in life! This interactive class teaches
yoga techniques through stories, games, and fun!

Zumba Kids (Ages 5-10): A fusion of Latin and international music with routines that mix body
sculpting movements with fun dance steps. No dance experience necessary.
