The YMCA offers seniors the opportunity to maintain a healthy lifestyle, healthy relationships and a positive outlook on life. Today, older adults are more health conscious than ever before and active seniors tend to live longer, have better functional conditioning, and receive a slew of other benefits. We provide a wide variety of exercise classes for seniors, whether you've been active your whole life or want to implement an exercise regime for the first time. It's never too late to feel the benefits of physical exercise, including:
Reduced risk of heart disease, diabetes and many other diseases.
Increased muscular strength, flexibility and balance.
Lower chance of depression symptoms.
General improvement in quality and length of life.
All ages and levels are welcome in most of our group fitness classes, but some of our offerings are geared toward seniors. See below for descriptions. And for class times, check the Group Exercise Schedule.
